Jewelry Color Trends 2011 - Blue Gemstones For Spring Fashion

Looking at the Spring colors from Pantone this year, I'm excited about the blue color palettes and the gemstone choices. Who doesn't like blue gemstones after all? This soft pastel touch of the blues open up an array of great choices for gem setting. When I see Regatta, I instantly think of Larimar. This versatile semi-precious stone is perfect for setting in cabs for chunky rings and necklaces. Because of the limited amount they have been able to mine, the price is bound to skyrocket, so hurry on your purchases. Larimar, a rare blue variety of pectolite is found only in the Dominican Republic.

Some Larimar will appear with a bit more green than the ocean sea looking shades that are so popular. This is a perfect fit for the other blue spring color from Pantone, Blue Curacao. This tone is a refreshing change of pace to the darker navy from 2010. It's exciting and breezy compared to it's darker cousin. A pale

Aquamarine may do the trick, but it's variations on the green are so slight, that it may not match up completely. The Regatta tone may reawaken my love of London Blue Topaz, an inexpensive alternative to Aquamarine that never really goes out of style, but will enjoy a very healthy revival this year with Pantone's choices.

Turquoise may be a possibility, but again, the variations could make matching difficult. Out will be dark blue Topaz, Tanzanite (thank you... no one could afford it anyway), Sapphire and Lapis. Keep in mind that crystals will be hot this spring and summer and the handmade artists will have a great time with this beautiful blue palette from Pantone this year. These blue color trends have really lifted my spirits this season... this is going to be a fun year for blue. Other possibilities that border on the unusual are Spessartine, Apatite, Light Green Zircon, maybe some variations of Tourmaline and Azurite.

This article will talk about useful information that you should know about spring makeup. Whether you are attending a formal event or just going out with your friends, it is important that you know the basics of applying makeup in spring.

Spring reminds you of colorful fragrant flowers and cute little animals hopping and bouncing about. Spring is all about nature and freshness and colors. You can experiment with your makeup in this season. However, there are some basic makeup tips for spring that have been tried and tested and have worked throughout the years for most women. Check out the following basic tips.

  • Eyes. You can never go wrong with purples, violets, and lavenders when it comes to eye makeup no matter what your skin or eye color is. You can use these colors in varying shades of pink and blue.
You can also use eye makeup that glimmer especially at night for a more fun and interesting look.
  • Lips. Pink is the usual color for spring lipsticks. If you have fair skin color, choose light pink tones. If you have dark skin color, darker pink tones are the best options. You can also apply nude lipstick for that natural and fresh look which is common in spring. Add a touch of lip gloss to make your lips more kissable.
  •  Foundation. Since makeup in spring is all about being natural and fresh, try not to overdo your foundation, especially if you are just going to a casual event. You do not want to look like a clown whose face is ten times whiter than the rest of his body. If you have dark or tanned skin color, you should wear less foundation. You should also choose something that complements your skin color.
  • Cheeks. For your cheeks, you can always opt for pink or peach colors. Be sure that you apply it on the right spot. Try to smile in front of a mirror and apply the blush on the apple of your cheeks.

Key Spring Summer 2011 Fashion Looks For Women

The Spring/Summer fashion season 2011 for women is characterised by a strong feminine vibe - elegance and glamour run throughout all the fashion trends for this season. This is a season of colour and revival, of beauty and glamour. This SS11 season will see period revivals for 70s glamour and sophisticated punk, biker chic and 1960s elegance.

The 70s revival has dresses in maxi, granny and halter-neck styles, draped and voluminous dresses slit high and cut low. Trousers are flaring and high-waisted. Jumpsuits are back. Accessories include floppy hats, bohemian beads and heels with everything - a revival of platforms and a re-working of the clog.

Hot-pants and thigh-high boots make a daring choice. Extreme high heels feature as a fashion cross-over item.1960 chic features circle skirts, pencil skirts, leather skirts, and dresses - mid-length or below the knee.

Dresses are sheath-like and fitted. It is very much a girly look - elegant, demure, with an underlying kittenish sex-appeal. The look is accessorized with gloves, kitten-heels, pretty bows. This trend sees the blazer as a cross-over item.

Biker-chic and punk have many points of cross-over - in both trousers are skinny cut, leather or denim and shorts also feature. The style point to remember with these is that the entire look must be built around a truly feminine vibe: nothing harsh or manly. Key fashion items will sport straps, studs and safety pins, killer-heels, buckles and boots, rips and ruffles.

There are a number of key items that a FFD can adapt to any of these trends. Belts of all shapes and sizes - thin, thick and multiple - will adorn the different styles, adding layers of detail and sophistication. "Loungerie" (lingerie as outerwear) in camisoles, bodices, teddies: feature across the season to add expressions of feminine seduction

In all trends fabrics and colours will be bold, beautiful and colourful. Sheer fabrics will update the 60s look, glamorise the 70s, and feminise the punk and the biker. Crochet, macramé and lacework will be updated for a fresh, ladylike appeal and leather is a key addition to the wardrobe this year. Evening wear fabrics are sheer, metallic, sparkling. Orange will be a focal colour for this year's palette along with natural earthy tones.
Prints, geometrical accents, stripes, floral motifs, and the naive prints all create an absorbing patchwork to adorn much of this year's fashion - across all styles.

In hair and makeup the romantic, feminine look prevails. The natural look includes free waves in the hair, loosely tied knots and nude makeup with a romantic twist.

The trend this year is for bright colours - and even the natural look will feature every colour of the rainbow on the eye. For a glamorous look, bold colour, glitter and audacious eyeliner are in and bold reds, oranges and hot pinks feature on the lips. Updos and extreme side-partings for sleek hair also add that touch of glamour.

Overall, this year will be girly, colourful and fresh - a welcome change from the woollen, welling toned winter that we hope is passing us by.

Finding The Best Slimming Swimsuit For Your Body Type

Women everywhere are searching for the perfect swimsuit so they can feel confident and attractive. When selecting a swimsuit, it's often difficult to select the right one. Want to slim your waistline, need additional control at the midsection or require more bust support? Women experience this all too often. The perfect swimsuit is really just a matter of selecting several features which will accentuate your best qualities. Take a look in the mirror to figure out what you like and/or dislike. This will help you select the perfect swimsuit.

Take all of your features and turn them into ones that will work for you. Women everywhere should feel confident and attractive in a slimming swimsuit, regardless of their size or body type. Slimming swimsuits come in a variety of sizes ranging from Misses, D Cup, DD Cup to Plus Size Woman's swimwear.

To flatten the tummy, choose a swimsuit that offers tummy control. The best results come from swimsuits which offer overall control, not just built-in control panels at the waistline. All-over control swimwear will slim and slenderize your figure from front to back. Most people are under the impression that built-in girdle panels will make the waist appear smaller, this is a common misconception. These panels will reduce your tummy, but limit the control to the front of the swimsuit which actually pulls the side seams forward. Your mid section will visually look larger. Other things to be aware of are swimsuits that have details at the neckline. For example, an empire waist. These type of features will help draw the eye towards your bust line and face which will help to create an hourglass shape. Another feature to look for is shirring. Shirring helps to minimize the waistline.

If you have a full bust, look for swimwear that contain under wire bras. This will help to provide additional support where you need it. Other swimsuits that provide support are halter tops or swimsuits with wide straps. Women with D Cup and DD Cup bust lines will benefit from these features. In order to minimize a larger bust, choose a swimsuit with a high neckline. They will offer additional support and minimize at the same time.

If you have small hips, choose a swimsuit that has details above or below the waist or one that has color designs. Swimwear with a lighter color on top will create the illusion of wider hips. Swimwear with princess seams will also provide balance to the body and align any imperfections.
Small busted women will benefit from under wire molded cup bras, sweetheart necklines or v-necks. These features will increase fullness of the bustline. To slenderize your hips, select dark colors or suits with moderate leg cuts. Minimize your thighs with any skirted leg cut such as a swim dress, swim skirt or swim shorts. These will help provide additional coverage.

No matter what your body type, you can look your best. Slimming swimsuits will give you the confidence you deserve.
