A WOMAN’S GUIDE TO YOUR BEST YOU

It may sound a bit cliché-ish but “you don’t get a second chance to make a good first impression.” For that matter, you don’t get a second chance to make a good second, third or even fourth impression either.
“Ahhhhh ladies….. Wouldn’t it be nice if the world just loved us for our minds .“ WAKE UP LONDA, fat chance…. lets see where was I…oh yeah impressions.
So like it or not as strong women, we have this thing called image that we get to deal with. And our image plays a major role in the out come of our lives. Its not enough that we carry and deliver the children, bring home the bacon, buy it, fry it, clean it up, help with the homework etc. etc. etc.. But we’re suppose to look gorgeous too.
Ok, we could complain, for all the good that will do; or we could just get down to the business  of making our image a lasting one that we can be proud of. And lets face it ladies, a lot of that looking gorgeous part is us. Is not the word cute the most over work word in a woman’s vocabulary? If it ain’t cute we don’t want to have nothing to do with it. So, instead of complaining, lets just make the best of it.
So, what is IMAGE? Beyond just appearances image is first and foremost:
OUR ATTITUDE- Our confidence, our virtues, our beliefs, our hearts! The most meaningful thing a woman can do for her self in her roles as mom, a career woman, an intimate partner and financial success; is improve her attitude. It is the one pre-requisite to all other improvements and the one thing over which you have total control. You may not be able to get taller or change the circumference of your head as an example.... haha.... but you can always change your attitude. No cosmetic in use to day is good enough to cover up a bad attitude. Now, there are many books written by some very prominent women on the subject so I’m not going to be-labor the point here. Suffice it to say success is spelled….

A T T I T U D E!
HAIR- Girl, take time out of your busy schedule to get cho hair did. I know you’re on a budget, but taking care of you is as important a line item as anything else on your budget. Keep your style up to date and current. Your hair style not only enhances your appearance; it dates you. When a woman is neglecting herself it usually shows up in her hair style first, for a man neglect shows up on his shoes.
MANICURES & PEDICURES-Nails and toes; we all know to keep them neat and trimmed, but also remember that length and width also compliments your appearance, especially hands. Nails can make your hands look longer or shorter and bigger or smaller, judgments are being made about your over all attractiveness based on your hands. Also remember that each season brings changes in your over all color schemes. So new nail polish shades will accompany the changing seasonal color schemes. Changes in nail polish shades will compliment the new color schemes in fashion and make-up for the coming season.
MAKE-UP- Begins and ends with skin care. The picture you paint won’t mean much if the canvas you paint it on is not clear, radiant, clean and healthy and that canvas is your skin. Bottom line is,
TAKE CARE OF YOUR SKIN.
Use good skin care products that clean your pours, moisturizes and re-vitalizes your skin and thoroughly removes old make-up. Having said that, now you can move on to foundations , lip glosses and lip sticks and eye artistry. Again, each season brings with it new colors; so shades are seasonal and created to compliment the colors of the current trend. It is up to you to choose and apply the shades and colors of the season appropriate for your facial shape, skin tone, personal style and event you’re attending. All of which can look very different depending on if you’re going to a business meeting at mid-day , or dinner  and the opera in the evening.
WARNING: As tempting as it may sound do not, do not share your make-up or brushes with your girl friends; not even in an emergency.
HEALTH & NUTRITION-Although I am not a proponent of fad diets, I am an advocate of good nutrition and exercise. I also believe that our bodies natural state is good health and it will maintain that if we give it the proper nutrition it needs. I’m not talking about the medias version of what we should look like but rather what is healthy and prudent for each one of us individually based on our height, bone structure, life style, age, gender and activity. The Idea is to be in tune with what’s best for you.
Maintaining image requires a team of people with expertise in different areas, Your team may include your life coach, your hair stylist, nail salon, beauty consultant, fashion co-coordinator, nutritionist and or gym. These are the people who support your in keeping up to date with all the latest fashion trends. After all just because you age, doesn’t mean you have be old!
If you don’t take care of you, then who is going to take care of your family?
